The Drew County Road Department is dedicated to maintaining the safety and accessibility of the county roads. The Road Department handles a variety of duties related to the maintenance and improvement of county roads and infrastructure. Their responsibilities include:

  1. Road Construction: The department may oversee the construction of new roads, bridges, and culverts, including grading, paving, and other related activities regarding county roads.
  2. Road Maintenance: This includes routine tasks such as patching potholes, repairing cracks, and resurfacing roads to ensure they are safe for travel.
  3. Signage and Markings: Installing and maintaining road signs, traffic signals, and roadway markings to ensure proper traffic control and safety.
  4. Drainage Systems: Maintaining and repairing drainage systems to prevent flooding on roads, including ditches, culverts, and stormwater management systems.
  5. Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of roadways and bridges to assess their condition and determine necessary repairs or upgrades.
  6. Emergency Response: Responding to storm damage and road emergencies, such as accidents or hazardous road conditions, to ensure public safety.
  7. Public Safety: Ensuring that all roads meet safety regulations and standards for the protection of the traveling public.
